With now the second generation in management and over 100 employees, the North Holland-based Knipping can call itself a successful family business. Knipping develops, produces and sells dormers, window frames, exterior doors, sliding doors and garden doors: exclusively to the private market.
Initially, Knipping found in us a partner who could provide the website with a reliable 3D configurator. Of course, that was no problem for Merkato! Based on, among other things, the height and width of the dormer and the measured roof pitch, a 3D visualisation of the dormer is displayed. This allows the customer to see exactly what the dormer will look like in the showroom, via the website or at home. The design is then sent to the showroom, where the order is finalised.
It soon became clear that Merkato could be used on a wider scale than just as a 3D configurator for dormers. That is why our software is now also used for other products in the range and as a welcome addition to control the production process.
In recent years, the company had been growing at lightning speed, and because every system they supply is custom-made, making the corresponding quotations began to require more and more resources. This stood in the way of rapid international expansion, which is why Wiejelo contacted Merkato.
In Merkato, we captured and automated all processes. As a result, the error rate due to human error was significantly reduced.
